Church bells shatter against a backdrop of lightning speed breaks while sinister creatures take shape in deep caverns.
Bong-Ra transports the listener back to the demonic rites of the middle ages by summoning four apocalyptic pieces of his darkest work to date on the latest vinyl installment from Zhark International. Blending high-definition Breakcore with harrowing strings and crushing screams, the 12" kicks off with "Nomina Nuda Tenemus" - a dense ride straight into occulted secrets guarded by Gregorian Monks. "La Plume De Ma Tante" follows with sweltering bass terror and overwhelming blasts of precision beat sequencing, a must for any Breakcore DJ or Headbanger alike. The flip side offers a slightly more subtle approach which starts with "Naai De Duivel In Zn Reet". This piece features intensely mangled breaks grinding against bloodcurdling vocal samples and hyperspeed DnB detonations - closing with sliding ambiance leading into the final chapter of this audio incubus. On "Zumo de mis Cojones Oscuros", Bong-Ra offers a splintered sliding percussive deluge and a tearing mise en scene which harks back to some of his more experimental releases like the "Praying Mantis EP". Melding classic dancefloor bombast with fiendish aggression and tortured screams - Vitus Blister marks a return to truly malevolent sonics, for both label and artist alike.

From America's isolated chambers spews forth the long awaited Zhark International release by none other than Xanopticon,
master of micro-psychotic beat fuckery. This three tracker starts off with the epic "Lock Jaw" - a showcase of his pummeling
yet streamlined aesthetic which cuts through any dancefloor like shards of broken mirror against the fabric of time. The new elegance
in his production shines through with less clutter in the chaos - no excess to be found in this excessive masterpiece.
The flip side delivers the driving "Stable Fire", an experiment in capturing the essence of the explosive element. Once again, his streamlined beats unlock doors to forbidden states of physical frenzy. "Forgotten Language" rounds this 12" off with the sinister buzzing breaks and scraping bass which he has built his well deserved reputation on. Zhark is proud to restart from its hiatus with the great Silver Key, for in its cryptical arabesques there may stand symbolised all the aims and mysteries of a blindly impersonal cosmos.

Zhark International News Update for Autumn 2006
The one thing I know after running a label all of this time, is that I am still happy to have the creative license to push the artists and music that really inspires me to keep going. Faith is not a word I will ever indulge in. Certainty can run low at points in this business. Vision and loyalty are the factors that keep Zhark going forward in this world cluttered with disposable electronica and unchallenging concepts....
Many changes coming here soon, as well as a full release schedule and updated site, which is in the works as I write this. Obviously I haven't cared very much updating the pics and site for some unknown reason. Probably because I have been in the midsts of deciding what truly matters to me..... musically and otherwise.

We have never charged for MP3s at Zhark.
Actually I think its probably the best idea to leave it that way.
Paying for digital downloads is a joke in my eyes.
I would rather spend the dollars at a strip show.

Zhark International 12015 LTD ED of 499
Reaching an apex of tight production and sequencing skills, Hecate has returned with her latest outing which drives the lurking loneliness of drug abuse and aborted love down your throat. This six-track mini-LP issued forth as super special limited edition - hand screened inside and out, hand numbered, and pressed on clear vinyl - brings the personal world of one woman's psychological terror and creeping deathtrips as close as you can get without becoming embroiled in the drama. Based loosely on William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch, Hecate set out to push herself through a summer of chemical-and-alcohol-fueled nights whilst shirking off the insipid delights of human contact. She emerged this autumn with cutting tracks that have scarred cities from London to LA with their debut plays which have been devoured by fans of both noise and glitched up breaks.
Side A starts off with a fantastically produced vocal-heavy track,"Dilaudid" , where Hecate's vocals resemble a sultry Film Noir vixen more than the typical metal growls you have come to expect. It sets the mood with its mysterious atmosphere, rough however slow, rolling breaks before the record kicks in with the distorted hardcore breaks and psychotic samples found on "In the Zone". A short intermezzo entitled "Nightmare Interlude" contains whispers of Croatian terrors found only in the haunted visions of partner in crime Nahema. "Towards Dead Matter" is where the first blow of utter longing and bitter regret surface, as Hecate vocalizes her desolate demise in a sea of thick strings and cut up, low-fi breaks.
Side B opens with grating metallic percussions pushed against sweeping organs, which lead into the mind blowingly emotive and (surprisingly) dancefloor-friendly "Complete Absence of Nostalgia" - a six minute ride through the corruption of love which is set free of its restraints by the negation of its own existence. The final blast comes as a tempest of hate and consummate repulsion with a 5 minute noise piece which will send shudders through every last nerve ending as she delivers a tormented manifesto which is as much a call to arms as it is an ode to Zos Kia and SPK.
This 12" is sure to set the standard of her productions even higher than the already well produced "Seven Veils of Silence" - The grinding breaks matched so well against a backdrop of malefic atmospheres and discordant vocals proves once again that Hecate has cut out a place for herself in modern music where most others would fear to tread. Stay tuned for her forthcoming full length and 12" entitled "Brew Hideous" which will appear on both Sublight and Hymen respectively - where she will present herself as another darkened facet of the archetypal devouress.

The title track opens with a metallic rush that leads into some of the most chopped and twisted breaks known to man, as the serpent dares you to continuwe on your journey into the knowledge of light and dark. “Black Bone Orchid” utilizes filtered strings to draw you deeper into this realm of blasphemous delights, before hitting you with the cut-up metal grind assault that leaves you shattered and broken, “Bitter Moon Blossom”. The EP ends with an older Abelcain compostion, “Danse Macabre” an epic, melodic dancefloor killer - fast paced rolling breaks and hyper edited staccato hooks round off this 4 tracker. Adding a new chapter in the legend of this mysterious American producer.

Deep in the bowls of history the instrument of terror was not the serpent or the trumpet but the harpsichord. It's off key high pitched devil summoning powers are little know outside the arcane world, but the Harpsicorpse is here to educate in Satan's pre guitar musical vehicle. Disturbing and bizarre, this will freak out and annoy any panda faced pretenders.

As the sweat pores down your face, and you await the longer nights - we at Zhark International are planning and actively working to bring you the utmost in quality industrial breaks and ripping ambience in the coming months. This past year has been one of our finest in terms of number of releases, insane shows, and world-wide presence. Our roster never looked better, and the forthcoming records are sure to wind this year up as Zhark's best yet.
We have spent nine years pouring our entireties into this world of subterranean sonics and unearthly frequencies. Uncovering lost shards of parallel dimensions through audio based time travel. Fucking with your heads. Blasting the bass while blood drips down the walls. It has become unstoppable. Zhark always promised to bring to you our best work, our darkest explorations into experimental electronics and blinding dancefloor monsters, and that is what we have achieved.
As we have strived to delve deeper and deeper into these worlds, the music scene surrounding Zhark has taken many curious turns in the past few years. Although separated from belonging to any specific and self defined genre, our work crosses and fits into the realms of a myriad of different subcultures and "scenes". If you look closely there is a common thread to all of what Zhark has released. This was started as a vision and a reaction to the mindless world of dance music and the lack of cutting, biting tunes which stand the test of time. We know that what we produce exists as a permanent record of our various journeys down our own individual paths, only time will tell how our moves will be interpreted.

2005 has been a rip-roaring ride on the back of the beast. This midsummer provides time to reflect on our past accomplishments and our future endeavors. We will leave it up to you dear listeners to take advantage of what we have to offer while it lasts in this incarnation. Hecate will be taking a month long break this May from playing shows, however she will spend it in studios from Berlin to Minneapolis....Recording a new project with the ever creative Dj Pure (Praxis/Mego) which will be fueled by heavily treated vocals, ambience and outright brutal beats. Then she will head to America to work on TREACHERY the fucking monster of BREAKMETAL - with Abelcain and Slutmachine, which promises to wreck your mind by melding intense drone/noise with the fastest in industrial black metal to construct a bizarre world of epic infamy and sonic witchery!!! watch out for this!!!!
Hecate will be back in June to play some select shows and enjoy the summer in Europe recording her new LP...

Hello All You Zhark Lovers and Haters!!
Big ups to all the promoters, crossover metal heads and breakcore freaks who came to our shows! that was a fucking whirlwind of destruction on all fronts....we have tons of cool pics from the shows i will be putting up VERY soon, plus loads of fucking cool video that i will start editing down into a 45 min-1 hr tour vid in the coming weeks.....
Back in switzerland now, i am supposed to head to holland in a day, but actually i really think i need a bit of a rest......my voice is slowly returning to normal after tearing it up 10 shows in a row.....and i hope xanopticon has pulled through better than abelcain who i hear is pretty fucked up at the moment......but hey if we didn't feel fucked up after a tour named "Abomination of Desolation" then i would know we were not doing our best! once again thanks to all the support DJs, promoters, and attendants! and keep it going strong - hard - and dark!

Filigreed harmonics, with their underpinnings of power, form an intricate armour against a suffering understood only by the human machine. Commandeering crescendos weave a dense melancholia, infused with valleys of lush desolation. Unrestricted dark passions scream a liturgy for survival, a call for the underdog to rise above the industrial waste of the psyche and shine some rusted soul to life."-dd
Richard For Cerebellum is the brain child of Lorren Stafford, Minneapolis based composer & classically trained pianist, cellist, and violinist. Most of the pieces on 'thoughts that breathe...' were written and recorded over a period of 10 years from 1987 to 1997. After the record was completed, it was buried in a deep, dark crypt for 7 years before clawing its way out of the grave and onto the Zhark roster. Conceived as a film score to a non-existent film, "thoughts that breathe..." brings classical chops, an epic sense of vertical density, vast chasms of contrasting elements and a diverse sonic palette to bear on this coherent collection of musical landscapes. Traditional instruments such as guitar, cello, clarinet and string sections share the orchestra pit with samplers & synths, found instruments, field recordings, circuit bent instruments, cutting edge software, and arcane audio electronic devices.
Lorren currently produces music as Slutmachine (Zhark) and collaborates in a diverse collection of projects: the organic-electronic duo, low orbit; ultra dense improvisational guitar/cello freakout Panzram; experimental noise/ambient project Nautipuss; and the doom drone/breakmetal monster, Treachery (with fellow Zhark mates Rachel Kozak & Martin Frank). Lorren is also the founder and owner of Blackbox Music Electronics, designer and manufacturer of boutique guitar effects and music electronics.
Whilst in London I mastered 2 more Zhark releases....

SLUTMACHINE - a nice taste of what Zharks newest artist has to offer, which will leave you wanting more (like a LP .....hint....hint...)
